Fun with remote controlled boats on a Parkside West pond.

Late Afternoon...a Rainbow Sky in July

Ribbons of lavender, rose and blue
Create a spectacular sundown
With colorful reflection upon the pond
Beyond the plentiful lavender crepe myrtles blooms.

Dragonflies Hop the Pond and Reflect upon its Water

My grandmothers and my great grandmother used to tell my sister and I that a dragonfly was a blessing and arrived to herald in good news or good people arriving soon.  They also told us that "darning needles" would stitch our fingers together.  I always wondered how the Darning Needles and the Dragon Flies, which to me were one and the same, could share good news while knitting on my fingers.   Hummm....

These dragonflies were photographed on our pond, hopping along the water, making one puddling circle after another and reflecting their images perfectly across the water.  Come again, often, dear dragonflies!

Florida's Sandhill Cranes with their brilliant red crowns are an endangered species.  We are pleased that two often visit our pond and home.  They have the most interesting discussions!  Each one creates unique, almost trumpeting, sounds that can be heard a very long way.  And they dance, jumping high...especially in mating season.  Come often Sandhill Cranes...we enjoy your visits.

And pipe the three words lightly
